Memorandum of Understanding Signed Between Civil Aviation Authorities of China and Serbia

The delegations from the Civil Aviation Directorate of the Republic of Serbia and the Civil Aviation Administration of the People's Republic of China signed a Memorandum of Understanding in Belgrade on 15th May 2023. The purpose of the memorandum is to enhance collaboration in civil aviation and foster commercial ties between Air Serbia and Hainan Airlines.

The Memorandum was signed by Mirjana Čizmarov, the Director of the Civil Aviation Directorate of the Republic of Serbia, and Liu Erhue, the Deputy Administrator of the Civil Aviation Administration of the People's Republic of China. They also took the opportunity to discuss other ongoing matters concerning the aviation relations between Serbia and China.

Under the signed agreement, both countries have agreed to liberalize their aviation policies compared to the previous period. This primarily involves more relaxed regulations on code-sharing agreements, enabling airlines to plan for expanded traffic networks beyond direct routes.

Alongside the representatives from the civil aviation authorities, the meeting was attended by Goran Vesić, the Minister of Construction,

Transport, and Infrastructure of the Republic of Serbia, Jiří Marek, the CEO of Air Serbia, and the representatives from Hainan Airlines.

During the meeting, the representatives from the civil aviation authorities meticulously reviewed each request for capacity expansion based on market demand, thereby further strengthening the longstanding collaboration between the civil aviation authorities of both countries.
