Air Services Agreement between Serbia and Iraq Signed

The air services agreement between Serbia and Iraq, providing an opportunity for the re-establishment of scheduled air services between the two countries, was signed by Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, Ms Zorana Mihajlovic and Iraq Transport Minister, Mr. Kadim Al Fenjan Kafaji.

Prior to its signing, the agreement was drafted and defined by the representatives of the Civil Aviation Directorate of the Republic of Serbia and the Iraq Civil Aviation Authority.

This new agreement regulates a number of aspects of importance for the international air services since the previously applicable one signed in 1975 between the former Yugoslavia and the Republic of Iraq.

After signing the Agreement, Ms. Mihajlovic discussed with the Iraqi delegation the possibilities of expanding economic cooperation between the two countries.

“There are momentous opportunities to expand future cooperation between Serbia and Iraq, and we have gathered here to make the first steps in this regard”, said the Deputy Prime Minister.

Minister Kadim Fenjan Al Kafaji said that the signed agreement will contribute to opening new fields of cooperation between the two countries.
