International Civil Aviation Day

Dec 06 2008
International Civil Aviation Day

Marking the occasion of the International Civil Aviation Day, on 7 December, the Civil Aviation Directorate of the Republic of Serbia has wished all employees in this industry in Serbia and abroad a great holiday and lots of success in reinforcing the global air space safety and security network.

As an aviation authority the Civil Aviation Directorate of the Republic of Serbia with full support from the Ministry of Infrastructure is especially proud of the results achieved in the fields of aviation safety and security, and of the fact that Serbia has already been recognized by the world as a regional leader.

The European Commission Reports dealt with these issues stating the position of the civil aviation for the past two years commending it the most advanced branch of Serbian transportation and economy on the whole.

Indeed, much has been done over a short span of time:

  • Memberships to the most significant aviation organisation in the world have been gained
  • Harmonization of national regulations with those of EC has been achieved
  • Belgrade Airport was granted a Category IIIB Certificate (for the reduced visibility operations)
  • The licences issued by the Directorate have been recognized across Europe (pilot, mechanic, schooling centres, aviation, aeronautical-medical institution licences) by being recognised in European aviation
  • Belgrade was selected to be the JAA REGIONAL TRAINING CENTRE - the third of its kind in Europe

Such results motivate us to work even harder and achieve more success in what is the common aim, i.e. the systematic development of Serbian air space as the important European milestone.
