Warning

The Civil Aviation Directorate of the Republic of Serbia hereby warns users of the Republic of Serbia airspace that hail suppression activities (which will take place from 15 May to 15 October) can represent hazard to aircraft operations in class G airspace where flights are not subject to ATC Clearance and maintenance of two-way radio communication is not necessary.

Hail suppression activities shall be performed by means of rocketing from the ground, with previous approval by air navigation services provider.

To avoid identified hazard, aircraft crews operating in class G airspace are advised and appealed, for the reason of their own safety, as well as safety of aircraft they operate on, to get information on hail suppression activities on frequencies of responsible ATC units published in AIP Serbia / Montenegro, Section ENR 2.1, attached to this warning, as well as by hail suppression radar station phones presented on the chart attached to this warning, which shall also be published on the index chart in AIP Serbia / Montenegro, Section ENR 6, with effective date 4 May 2012.

Air traffic in airspace C and D classes shall get instructions for avoidance of areas of hail suppression activities by means of mandatory radio-communication with the responsible ATC unit.
