Signed Agreement on Business and Technical Cooperation between Civil Aviation Directorate and the Ministry of Interior

Today, Mirjana Čizmarov, Director of the Civil Aviation Directorate, and acting Assistant Minister, Head of the Logistics Sector in the Ministry of the Interior, Borisha Roljić, signed an Air Transport Security Cooperation Agreement at the 'Nikola Tesla' Airport.

Under the provisions of this Agreement, the Civil Aviation Directorate has supplied computer equipment to the Ministry of the Interior, specifically intended for the training of police officers of the Border Police Administration who are responsible for conducting additional security screenings of passengers, as well as the inspection of their carry-on and checked baggage, cargo, and mail at airports.

In expressing his gratitude, Head of the Logistics Sector Roljić highlighted that this equipment would facilitate daily training and skill enhancement for police officers. This, in turn, is aimed at achieving a higher level of efficiency and effectiveness in safeguarding civil aviation against unlawful interference and detection of prohibited items.

"In accordance with the Air Transport Act and the National Aviation Security Program, following the completion of training and successful certification by the Civil Aviation Directorate, 35 police officers have been certified to work in this specific field," stated Roljić. He further emphasized that the provided equipment will significantly contribute to their ongoing professional development.

Director Čizmarov underscored the critical importance of this form of collaboration under the air transport law. The shared objective among all stakeholders in the aviation industry is to ensure the safe and secure flow of passengers and cargo.

"The Ministry of the Interior is a natural partner in this area. Additional training for police officers will serve as a substantial enhancement to overall civil aviation safeguarding against unlawful interference," Čizmarov said.
