ICAO audits in the field of aviation security and facilitation conducted

The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) conducted from 16 to 26 May 2022 the audit in the field of aviation security (AVSEC) and facilitation (FAL) of the Republic of Serbia, to establish the level of compliance with the international standards and recommended practices, at both national and airport levels.

On May 26, 2022, the preliminary results of the completed audit were presented in a meeting organized for the ICAO team members, Karen Zadoian, Stefan Dumitrascu, Brian Derks and Georgia Antonakou, and the representatives of the Civil Aviation Directorate of the Republic of Serbia headed by the Director of the Directorate Mirjana Cizmarov. The representatives from the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Serbia, Nikola Tesla Airport, and Air Serbia also participated in the meeting.

On this occasion, the leader of the ICAO audit team Karen Zadojan addressed the participants and stated that this audit confirmed the significant progress and success of the Republic of Serbia in the field of aviation security and facilitation, especially concerning the previous audit in 2010.

Mirjana Čizmarov, Director of the Directorate of Civil Aviation, confirmed in her address that the Directorate has made great progress in recent years in the field of aviation security and that the successful audit is the result of many years of efforts to improve and implement measures related to aviation security and facilitation.

The ICAO audit report will be delivered to the Civil Aviation Directorate of the Republic of Serbia within the next 60 days, with the official grade on the degree of compliance with the international standards and recommended practices.
