Safety directive

On March 19, 2020, the Civil Aviation Directorate of the Republic of Serbia issued Safety Directive No. 02/2020 aimed at operators operating public air transport to the territories with high levels of risk of the spread of Covid-19 virus.

The reason for issuing the Security Order is to reduce the risk of possible infection of passengers with the Covid-19 virus that may result from the use of aircraft on flights operated at aerodromes located in areas with increased risk of the spread of the Covid-19 virus.

Operators must apply the appropriate cleaning and complete disinfection of aircraft with disinfectants required for this purpose after each flight from an aerodrome located in the area of high levels of risk of Covid-19 virus infection.

Operators may apply a different frequency of aircraft disinfection after they carry out risk assessment which must also take into account operational facts as well as the duration of the disinfectant used in the aircraft disinfection process. Operators must ensure that aircraft are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected not later than 24 hours after the aircraft`s departure from an aerodrome located in the area of high levels of risk Covid-19 virus infection.

Air operators must equip each aircraft with one or more Universal Precaution Kits. This equipment is used to protect crew members who came into contact with the passengers potentially infected with the Covid-19 virus and who are involved in cleaning up any contents having been exposed to the virus.
