2011 FAI Awards granted to CAD RS
Monday, 17.10.2011.
The Civil Aviation Directorate of the Republic of Serbia (CAD RS) has adopted a proactive approach to aviation safety by directly involving passengers and civil aviation staff to report occurrences on a voluntary basis and anonymously, as they find a potential safety concern.
Printed forms for mandatory occurrence reporting are readily available through CAD RS website (http://www.cad.gov.rs/prijava_forma.php) and have already been distributed at the Nikola Tesla Airport.
CAD RS is the first aviation authority in the region to implement this EU recommendation with the aim of improving overall safety in civil aviation involving passengers` contribution.
The person reporting an occurrence must decidedly be protected against legal, administrative or disciplinary sanctions. The information provided will most positively be treated as confidential and will not be forwarded to any third parties. The information will be used and analyzed by appropriate persons within CAD RS, except at the request made by the law enforcement authorities of the Republic of Serbia.
Voluntary occurrence reporting is merely a part of a larger picture which will contribute to reaching an even higher degree of safety and security in Serbian civil aviation, which have already been highly rated by the European Commission. CAD RS has been continuously making efforts towards adopting the state-of-the-art improvements in the safety domain and in the application of European standards.
Collecting information on potential safety concerns from passengers and aviation staff has already been applicable in EU states, and has been recommended to Serbia as of late. Overall air transport policy in Europe is largely open to passengers who are of a primary concern.
