Teams of experts from the Civil Aviation Directorate of the Republic of Serbia are undertaking inspections of potential sites for future heliports. For the next two months, 47 municipalities across Serbia are going to be inspected. These municipalities responded to the initiative for new heliports to be open proposed by the Directorate. The first sites to be inspected are located in Jagodina and Cuprija.

 

The team of experts are to visit all the sites and analyze the following necessary documentation:

 

Evidence on the authorization to use the potential heliport surface;

Heliport location map at a scale 1:25.000, with a nearest populated place plotted;

Heliport layout plan at a scale 1:10.000, the vertical and horizontal projection, with plotted obstacle heights, and other safety-related areas which bear potential hazard to heliport operations.

The costs of the inspections of potential heliports, the registration procedures and technical assistance will be covered by the Civil Aviation Directorate of Serbia.

 

The initiative launched by the Directorate aims at improving the overall civil aviation safety in Serbia. More than 130 local self-governments were invited by the Directorate last year to open new heliports and apply for authorizations to use them.
