Information on pilot licenses issued in the Civil Aviation Directorate of the Republic of Serbia
Wednesday, 26.09.2012.
On 30 and 31 May 2012 at the third meeting of EASA Pan-European Partner Countries - PANEP Workshop held in Zagreb one of the issues raised was the status of pilot licenses issued by non-EU Member States.
The European Commission answered the questions after the meeting and they were put out on SYNAPSE (EASA Web Forum) containing the official explanation on the status of the pilot licenses for the transition period from JAR-FCL 1,2,3,4 to the implementation of EU Regulations No. 1178 / 2011 and 290/2012. This information includes the interpretation of the above EU regulations concerning the status of pilot licenses issued by the Civil Aviation Directorate of the Republic of Serbia.
Pending the entry into force on the international level of the Multilateral ECAA Agreement, EU Member States, that have recognized JAR licenses issued by CAD RS until the formal implementation of Regulation (EC) 1178/2011, can continue recognizing such licenses until their expiration date, but not later than 8 April 2018, provided that the license holders have a valid medical certificate, and that EASA inspection reports in FCL and MED following the standardization visits verify that CAD RS maintains the standards in accordance with the mentioned EU regulation.
It is worth noting that from the moment of application of the EU regulation 1178/2011 the Republic of Serbia will have the same status as do EU Member States concerning FCL and MED.
