The Civil Aviation Directorate of the Republic of Serbia adopted a new Plan for organizing the search and rescue system in the civil aviation of the Republic of Serbia (SAR Plan), which describes and defines the organization, management and operation of SAR system in civil aviation in the Republic of Serbia.
The SAR plan is applied for initiating and conducting search and rescue operations in the territory of the Republic of Serbia, and is applicable in the territory of other states if so allowed under the international agreement concluded with those states. Additionally, the SAR Plan pertains to the bodies of other states, responsible for search and rescue, that are the participants in search and rescue operations in the territory of the Republic of Serbia under the International Agreements.
The SAR plan was drawn out under the Air Transport Law of the Republic of Serbia, the Directive on the manner in which participants are engaged in searching for aircraft and rescuing persons in civil aviation, the regulation on providing search and rescue services, international standards and recommended practices in the field of search and rescue.
The SAR plan also forms basis for the operation of the Search and Rescue Division of the Directorate and all participants and entities engaged in the system of civil aviation search and rescue in the Republic of Serbia.
