The Airports Department is part of Air Navigation and Airports Division.
Responsible for comprehensive activities in the fields of administration, regulation and oversight as well as the related rulemaking activities concerning the design, building, reconstruction, use and maintenance of airports, airfields and terrain; operations, job organisation and professional training, organization of performance of different tasks, duties and responsibilities by the specialized aviation personnel.
The Department prepares proposals of measures for improving conditions at airports and airfields. It also carries out administrative and technical tasks in connection to the building, reconstruction and maintenance of airports, airfields and heliports.
The Department participates in the drafting of aviation legislation regarding:
- The establishment of training organizations;
- Technical personnel training programmes; and
- Other activities related to the Division’s competency.
